Tree Service in Hermitage, TN

Protecting the Trees That Make Your Property Feel Like Home

Tree Care Backed by Local Experience

Between jobs in Old Hickory, Donelson, and the east side of Nashville, we're on these streets often enough that we understand the properties here — the tree types, the tight access points, and the challenges that come with older lots near the lake.

Whether you're preserving a mature shade tree or removing one that's become a hazard, our goal is the same: provide thoughtful recommendations, quality workmanship, and a process that leaves you confident you made the right choice.

Great Job!

“Josh's team came in the day after the storm and completely removed the fallen tree from our house. Insurance was able to adjust the damage and settle the claim very quickly. Wouldn't have happened otherwise. Great job!”

Tree Services We Offer in Hermitage

We provide a full range of residential and commercial tree care across Hermitage and the surrounding east-side communities:

Tree Removal

Most of what we do in Hermitage is removals — and not the easy ones. Older neighborhoods are full of mature trees planted too close to houses, fences, driveways, and power lines, which is exactly where our equipment earns its keep. We remove trees of any size using crane-mounted grapple saws, stick cranes, self-propelled lifts on turf tires, and skilled climbers when the access calls for it.

Tree Trimming

Pruning protects the long-term health, shape, and safety of your trees. Every job we do follows ANSI A300 standards — whether we're cleaning the crown of a mature oak, lifting branches off a roofline, or shaping the structure of a younger tree planted in a newer subdivision.

Emergency Tree Service

When a tree is on your house, blocking your driveway, or hanging over a neighbor's fence after a storm, we're available 24/7 to respond. Our crane-mounted grapple saw is built for exactly this work, and we coordinate directly with your insurance adjuster from quote through payment.

Tree Preservation

Not every tree needs to come down. Some can be saved with a cabling and bracing system that stabilizes weak unions, combined with weight-reduction pruning to take pressure off the structure. We'll tell you honestly whether a tree is worth preserving — and what it'll take to do it right.

Land Clearing

We handle selective clearing and full-lot clearing for Hermitage homeowners, builders, and developers. Whether you're prepping for new construction, opening up a fence line, or clearing a wooded back lot, we have the excavators and crews to get it done.

Why Hermitage Homeowners Trust Tree Solutions

Hermitage has plenty of tree service options. Here's what makes the difference when you hire us:

  • Verifiable Insurance Coverage

We carry general liability, commercial auto, and workers' compensation — and before any work begins on your property, we'll provide a certificate of insurance naming you as additional insured.

  • Equipment Built to Protect Your Property

Heavy equipment is one of the biggest reasons tree work goes wrong on a property — cracked driveways, ruined sod, crushed irrigation lines. We invested in a lighter grapple saw truck and self-propelled lifts on turf-friendly tires specifically to avoid those problems.

  • ISA-Certified Arborist on Staff

Every estimate is informed by certified arboricultural expertise. We make recommendations based on what your tree actually needs, not what we can bill for — and we'll tell you when a tree can be saved instead of removed.

  • Specialists in Difficult Removals

Whether a tree is growing over a home, surrounded by structures, or tucked into a tight backyard, we have the equipment and experience to remove it safely. From our grapple saw truck and spider lifts to skilled climbers, we choose the right approach for every property.

  • Storm-Ready, 24/7

Middle Tennessee gets hit hard in the spring and occasionally through the winter. We're set up to respond fast when a tree comes down on your property — and we'll work directly with your insurance company, so you're not stuck doing the paperwork alone.

  • Locally Owned & Family-Operated

Tree Solutions has proudly served Middle Tennessee since 2015. As a local, family-owned company, we're committed to building lasting relationships through honest recommendations, quality work, and dependable service.

What We Love About Hermitage

Hermitage has grown steadily over the years but still feels like the lakeside Nashville community it's always been — close to the water, full of mature trees, and proud of its place in Tennessee history. Here are some of our favorites:

  • The Hermitage: Andrew Jackson's historic home and the namesake of the community — a 1,120-acre estate with mansion tours, walking trails, and one of the most significant historic landscapes in the state.

  • Cook Day Use Area: A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park on Percy Priest Lake just off Old Hickory Boulevard — with a boat ramp, swim beach, picnic pavilions, and hiking trails right at Hermitage's southern edge.

  • Hermitage Golf Course: A 36-hole public course tucked along the Cumberland River — host to past LPGA events and a favorite of golfers across the east side.

  • Stones River Greenway: A scenic paved trail running along the Stones River and into Hermitage, popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists.

  • Hermitage Public Library: One of the most-used branches in the Nashville Public Library system and a community hub for Hermitage families.

Very Professional and Very Attentive

“Josh and his team were very professional and very attentive to property while cutting down a very large ash and smaller cedar. They used mats to limit damage to yard from equipment. They cleaned up after hauling off the brush including cleaning debris off road. I definitely recommend them for any of your tree cutting jobs.”

Tree Issues We Commonly See in Hermitage

Hermitage neighborhoods range from established 1960s and '70s subdivisions to newer construction along the lake, and each comes with its own set of tree challenges. A few patterns we see repeatedly:

  • Aging Trees Planted Too Close to Homes: A lot of Hermitage's older neighborhoods were built when nobody thought about how big a maple, oak, or sweetgum would get in 40 years. Now those trees are crowding rooflines, lifting driveways, and pressing into fences — and removal often requires specialized equipment to do safely.

  • Bradford Pear Failures: Bradford pears are common throughout Hermitage, but their weak branch structure makes them prone to splitting as they mature. Regular inspections can help identify problems before they lead to storm damage.

  • Emerald Ash Borer (EAB): EAB is active across Davidson County and continues to kill ash trees at an accelerated rate. If you have an ash on your property, it needs to be evaluated — treatment is possible if caught early, but advanced decline leaves removal as the only option.

  • Storm Damage Near the Lake: Wooded lots along Percy Priest Lake catch the brunt of the wind during spring thunderstorms, and we see a steady stream of hazard tree calls in Hermitage from April through May. Catching weak or compromised trees before storm season is almost always cheaper and safer than addressing them after.

Hermitage Neighborhoods We Serve

From our base on Nashville's east side, we're regularly working across Hermitage — from the established neighborhoods along Old Hickory Boulevard and Central Pike to the lakeside communities on the southern edge of the area.
